Meet Our Leadership
We are proud of our committed and diverse staff driven by our common goal to create lasting wellbeing for children and families.
Ron and Linda Pickard
Owners
Ron and Linda Pickard established the non-profit 501(c)3 Sharon Charitable Trust in 1998 for the purpose of providing a sanctuary for native wildlife and the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs. They serve as executive trustees for the trust, which has now established and maintains what is known as Horse Creek Wildlife Sanctuary and Animal Refuge. The sanctuary is their passion and through a highly dedicated team it continues to give back to the community.
Our Staff
Lindia Paulson
Administrator
Lindia Paulson retired after serving 13 years as Administrator. However, her commitment and dedication to Horse Creek Wildlife will continue to be felt as she assists Ron & Linda Pickard as Trustees of the Sharon Charitable Trust, which funds the sanctuary. She and her husband Bob live close by and both are true friends of the sanctuary, devoting countless volunteer hours to the dog rescue program.
Lindia plans to spend more time at their condo on the beach in Florida while she and Bob plan that “special trip.”
Kevin Skoffic
General Manager
Kevin Skoffic, General Manager, oversees all operations for the sanctuary’s programs, property and facilities. Kevin and his wife Bonnie, live close by on a small farm with horses, cows, dogs, goats, and chickens. He enjoys repairing and maintaining his farm equipment. In addition to his many talents, Kevin is a great artist and has contributed to many of the sanctuary’s booklets, brochures, seasonal cards and paintings.
TIm Stanfill
Villa Operations Supervisor
Tim Stanfill, Villa Operations Supervisor, ensures all of the sanctuary’s rescued dogs live well as he maintains the villa to the highest standards. He works closely under the supervision of Dr. Don Edwards to provide excellent care for the sanctuary’s rescues. We often refer to Tim as the sanctuary’s very own personal “dog whisperer.” He also has the ability to “fix anything” making him a handy person to have around. Tim lives at Horse Creek with his wife Candy, and their dogs and cats.
Donald Baugus
Operations Foreman
Donald Baugus, Operations Foreman, helps to keep the sanctuary looking beautiful and the equipment in good working order. Donald is very creative and has the ability to visualize and create useful items that solve problems. He and his wife, Tammy, live nearby in Hardin County. In his spare time, he helps his father tend cattle. Donald enjoys being outdoors – he rides ATV’s, hunts, and fishes for relaxation.
Kim Austin
Administrative Specialist and Adoption Facilitator
Kim Austin, Administrative Specialist and Adoptions Facilitator, maintains our animal records and other administrative duties in our office. In addition to her office duties, Kim oversees our adoption programs and sees that our rescued dogs are placed in the very best homes possible. Kim and her family live in Savannah with two dogs and two cats. Kim’s home time is filled with all the activities associated with her teenage son.
Melisa Mitchell
Bookkeeper
Kathy Stidham, Bookkeeper, is responsible for our bookkeeping duties. She and her husband, Ronnie, live in Adamsville. They share their home with four rescued dogs, one of whom was adopted from Horse Creek several years ago. They enjoy loading up their dogs into their camper and discovering new adventures on long weekends.
